I hope this space motivates you to be bold, to be your true self, to be the girl who had a dream and decided to run with it but most importantly, a space to appreciate the beauty that is all around you.

Since the time of sleepovers + Britney Spears karaoke nights, there I was at the age of twelve planning themed parties that required a strict dress code, funfetti cupcakes, and a whole lot of colorful decor. Event planning + design has been in my bones all along - it is what fuels me, what brings me the most joy, and truly makes me feel alive. I absolutely love turning blank pages into canvases - splashing all kinds of colors, patterns, and a whole lot of love onto it. Yet, what I really love the most are my clients. I love being able to take their vision and turn it into the prettiest thing they ever did see!

Hello lovely friends, I’m Aly, your go-to planning gal who loves all things LOVE! Being a part of Sunshine Events is the biggest blessing! It has allowed both my heart for people and my eye for design to come to life in stunning designs, pops of color, and romantic touches to create experiences you will remember for a lifetime!

Event planning and design fill my heart with so much JOY! Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved hosting themed parties and watching way too much “Bachelorette” and “Say Yes To The Dress.” In recent years, I have also enjoyed planning university dances, sorority socials, and even planning to get the best Taylor Swift tickets!

I truly enjoy cultivating beautiful events with personalized touches to celebrate all of life’s special moments because you deserve to be celebrated! My favorite thing is getting to know my wonderful clients and turning their Pinterest dreams into a reality!

My name is Gabrielle Mendez, and I’m SO excited to be a part of the Sunshine Events team! I was never that kid that always knew what they wanted to be when they grew up, so I ended up just deciding to see where life would take me. Fortunately, I fell into the hands of Christina at Sunshine Events and have been SHINING ever since! Who knew that my obsession with “Say Yes to the Dress” would foreshadow my career in the wedding and events planning industry?

My role, specifically, is the Social Media and Marketing Manager for the company! With a degree in English from the University of Santa Barbara, along with running the social media for a family owned historical house, my background fits the perfect mold here!

If you were to ask me what my FAVORITE part of my job is, it would have to be the relationships I get to create with both clients AND other creatives! Working with people makes my heart the happiest, especially being able to create their visions and to celebrate the milestones in their lives!

But in all seriousness, from styled shoots, to company outreach, and running the social media, to making a client’s vision come to life, this IS my dream job! Whether you’re a couple looking to start your wedding journey, or a company looking to collaborate, here at Sunshine Events, you’ll be treated like family.
